a positive and creative city for business

Robert Smith photographed downtown on Wellington.

It was really fun photographing creative director Robert Smith in amongst some downtown traffic! It was a perfect place to photograph Rob because he’s always right in the middle of the design scene in Ottawa – working on branding and packaging projects for clients like Farmboy and The Royal Canadian Mint, as well as mentoring so many young graphic designers with his teaching and his work with the RGD. Rob like many, wasn’t born here but loves to call Ottawa home – and he really loves Ottawa as a base to run his creative business Greenmelon from. “Ottawa’s such a positively charged city for business without feeling like too big of a big city – which makes it such a great environment for business start-ups.” As Rob points out, yes Ottawa is a Government town and yes it’s a high tech centre, but it’s also home to so many other successful and dynamic businesses!

When I asked Rob about his favorite Ottawa restaurants or places to hang out, he mentioned the Moonroom on Preston, but really it’s anywhere him and his teenage boys are! To find out more about Rob Smith and Greenmelon you can take a peek at his site at:
