sophisticated style and small town sensibility

Laura Twiss and Tonia Weber photographed in their Wellington West store.

It was such a pleasure and fun to photograph Laura Twiss and Tonia Weber yesterday. They’re so much more than fashion designers and creators of great clothing for women, they help women find and take command of their own unique style. Laura and Tonia are not only business partners, they’re also best friends and moms – and they’re so down to earth and so unpretentious. They are so Ottawa!

Laura and Tonia both really love the small town feel and sensibility of Ottawa, while still being a city with an influence of sophistication. And they definitely love the community feel of Wellington West – they love being able to bump into customers on the street and really getting to know them over the years.

The girls love supporting their community, especially the local restaurants in Wellington West and Hintonburg. One of their favourites in the neighbourhood is Petite Bill’s Bistro for their high standard of food and great service. Laura and Tonia proudly run their business with authentic heart and respect, so they love supporting other Ottawa businesses like Petite Bill’s who share in that same philosophy. Part of their community mindedness is also to support Dressed for Success, a not-for-profit organization that provides professional clothing to help women get into and/or back into the professional work force.

If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to drop in and see Twiss & Weber’s Ottawa boutique at 1282-C Wellington West, please go in and meet Laura and Tonia – I know they’d love it if you did!
