We all love Ottawa and we all love the holidays – and being safe while having fun while celebrating is super important. We thought it would be fun to photograph a series of favourite Ottawa drinking places showing off their unique offered non-alcoholic drinks for designated drivers over the Christmas season. And what a better place to start our 12 days series than photographing Meredith and her wee festive friend Jake at The Hintonburg Public House! As most folks know, the HPH is known for their great local craft beer selection, but Meredith wanted to make something with a little exotic and festive flare – a seasonal faux-hito with cranberries, mint, soda, sugar and lime juice. A super refreshing holiday drink – thanks Meredith…..and Jake!

Thanks so much to all the great restaurants, bars and hotels in Ottawa who care so much for their patrons and our community by offering such awesome non-alcoholic cocktails for designated drivers during the festive season. Thanks also to great initiatives like Operation Red Nose who by the generous assistance of volunteers and sponsors help people get their cars home if they’ve had too much to drink. Happy and safe holidays from loveOttawa!
